Where did all the hats go?! September 24 2011 | Saturday at 02:48 PM

You might have noticed that many hats seem to be unavailable at the moment. What gives? Well the short answer is... I sold them all. I should be restocked on some items, as well as getting some new and exciting hats in November, but some things won't be available until January. There's a lot going on for Short Army and a lot going on for me personally these days, so let me give you a few quick updates.

-A couple of weeks ago marked the close of Short Army's very first year. It's been so fun, exhausting, inspiring and educational... plus I get to tell people that I'm a real Business Lady, and that's pretty cool. Obviously I still have a lot to learn about inventory management, and a lot of hat and shirt design avenues to explore, so I'm extremely happy and excited to enter into year two!

- We're moving! My family and my business are both growing rapidly and we needed more space to art, work, play, and store our expanding line of products. For that reason, among a few others, we're moving about an hour and a half drive south of our current space to Newport, RI. If you happen to be lucky enough to visit Newport sometime, you'd understand why we're absolutely thrilled to go. Island paradise - New England style.

- So up there in that last bullet I mentioned my growing family. Last week two wonderful things happened: my little girl (who is the main reason we stock so many things in baby sizes) turned two-years-old, and I found out that our next little nugget is not just a bean-shaped gray blotch, but actually a little boy! I'm very excited, of course, but please keep this in mind if you find that it takes me a couple of days to ship your items these next two weeks. I'm front-heavy, hungry, and living out of boxes.

- I've been spending some time exercising those vector skills (in a very very small way) for a couple of projects I think are great. The biggest and most important of which is www.trampt.com. Well, I should say that though this is the biggest project, my contribution to it was tiny. If you haven't checked it out yet, you really really should, because it's amazing. My husband has been working on this for over three years, and if you become a contributing member of the trampt community, you'll get a wonderful badge, drawn by me!

This entry is starting to feel a little verbose so the rest of my news will have to be covered in future blogging. More events, more adventures, and more hat experiments are coming soon, so stay tuned!
